8 Tips for "Good Health"

Originally, I wanted to write "52 tips for your health" or something to that effect, and now we're in the 3rd week already of 2024! So, I thought I'd write a little about my life, what's been going on (briefly), and start with 8 tips.  8 tips seems more doable, more achievable than 52 tips. Well, right now I am watching this documentary on social media (You Tube) about the sugar in our diets.  And, watching it spurred me on to at least get writing this blog today.  ("How Sugar is Making Us Sick" by Endevr channel, citing source).  Of course, this ties in to Plate by Zumba also, as we have a learning module dedicated to the addictive properties of foods, including sugar. I was getting ready to join a Revelation Wellness Plus Sugar Fast in January for 21 days, but around the time it was starting I developed cold and allergy symptoms, a little bit stronger and more unusual for me so i decided to opt out of doing the sugar fast this time around.  But, I am

Because You Asked for It

Warmest of greetings to everyone, both near and far, both those of you I know in person, in real life, as well as to those of you I know only from a distance as pen pals.  I am thankful that you are here today, reading my blog! Today's topic is how I lost the weight this time around.  So many of you, members from my gym, have been asking me how did I do it?  Everyone keeps asking me how did I lose the weight? So, I decided I would make a video, a longer presentation for them, to go into more detail of exactly my story this past year.  It connects to past years also, and I really wanted to express completely my story.  At the gym, we only get, I only get, to share in "bits-and-pieces" of my story, and the recipient, or the listener, does not really get to hear my full story.  I am hoping that my video presentation will answer your question of how I did it, and also, spur you to do it yourself, if that is your goal. I am actually not feeling too great right now, as I type t

Practice Using the Fiber Worksheet (A Mini-Preview of Class #7)

Hey Guys!  How's everyone?  I hope this blog post finds you doing well.  Today is Friday; are you ready for the weekend, yet?  For me, I moonlight over the weekend so no rest and fun for me. This is my fun, counting how much fiber I took in for breakfast this morning!  This mini-blog post today, would probably fit in nicely as part of an entire lesson on fiber intake and digestive health.  Be on the lookout for that lesson is coming soon:  next week on Tuesday, December 19th I believe. I don't know when the last time was that I ate oatmeal.  Oatmeal, from what I've heard, has mixed reviews.  Some people say, "no, don't eat oatmeal" but I don't know why they told me that.  Other, "experts" also give mixed reviews on consuming oatmeal.  If I understand Dr. Davis correctly (and, if I am wrong I will correct my statement) has stated that all wheat nowadays is bad because of an element (my word) called glycophates (did I spell that correctly, I'

Briefly, my background.   For those of you

Class #4 Thursday December 7, 2023 Plate by ZUMBA with ZIN Monica Velez, the Holidays version

Warmest of warmest greetings. Hello family and friends!  I hope this day finds you well.  Thank you for being here today.  I'd like to give a warm welcome to all of you for being here today, whether live in the zoom meeting, or later at a video recording, or here on this blog.  I appreciate all of you for watching or reading my blog notes.  We really do need each other along life's journey, right?! Introduction Today's topic will be talking about tracking food the Plate by ZUMBA way.  We will review the Food Chart from Plate by ZUMBA, and we'll review what to eat and which foods to avoid eating.   In the last class, the video I made omitted the sound, so all you could see was my pretty face but not my voice.  I am so disappointed about that; I had shared a lot of personal stories and testimonies that were related to food and the topics we are talking about.   Please be thinking about if you have any questions, or comments, and write them down.  I'd love to hear them
